High protein diet has become one of the most popular diets around these days. A high protein diet means eating a balanced diet that is eating high protein foods.

High protein diet is the only one diet that stays effective towards many reasons of following it. But however depending on the reasons small changes should be made to the high protein diet.

You should have 1 gram of protein per pound of your weight in a healthy diet. Say for instance you are 180lbs of weight then you should have 180 grams of proteins in your high protein diet. no matter if the person wants to lose weight or gain muscles, he should eat 1 gram per his body weight in his high protein diet.

1. 8 ounces plain or fruit yogurt
2. 1/4-cup nonfat dry milk
3. 1/2-cup cottage cheese
4. 1-ounce semi-hard or solid cheese
5. 1 cups any type of fresh milk.
6. 1/2-cup pudding
7. 1/2-cup custard
8. 1/4-cup Parmesan cheese
9.1-cup buttermilk
10. 1/2 cup evaporated canned milk
11. 2 Tbsp almonds, cashews, or walnuts
12. 2 Tablespoons sesame tahini
13. 2 Tablespoons sunflower nuts
14. 2 Tablespoons peanut butter
15. 2 Tablespoons peanuts
16. 1 cup cooked dried peas or lentils
17. 3 ounces cooked beef, pork, lamb or other red meat
18. 1/2 cup canned tuna
19. 3 ounces cooked fresh water fish
20. 1/2 cup roasted soybeans
21. 1/2-cup tofu or tempeh
22. 3 ounces cooked shellfish
23. 3 ounces cooked chicken, turkey, or other poultry
24. 1 large egg
25. 1/4-cup fat-free egg substitute
26. 1-cup of soymilk
27. 1-cup cooked dried beans, like pinto, kidney, or navy.

As a supplementary for these above mentioned high protein diet foods, a lot of protein drinks are also available in shops, which can be included in high protein diets.
